The Music Factory Entertainment Group has a proven track record of providing creative and engaging solutions to the entertainment industry, the fitness industry and more recently the public sector, particularly within the field of education.

There is a strong marketing and promotional ethic within the company, communicating and engaging our target audiences on a global basis, with our diverse range of products, websites, services and events.

The company is one of the largest media employers in the region and is firmly positioned within the creative and digital sector, employing upwards of eighty people, working in multimedia, graphic design, audio visual and music production.

Over the past year the Music Factory Entertainment Group has formed Investors in Education, an employer engagement standard and u-xplore, an e-enabled student advice and guidance interface to be made available to all young people within secondary and further education.

In developing these projects, we have created a strong working relationship with local education authorities, local schools and local councils, giving us a better understanding of their requirements, particularly around employer engagement and career advice and guidance.

Investors in Education is a unique business led approach to education; it is an organisation that is committed to making it easy for businesses to participate in; and understand education.

Participating businesses become members of Investors in Education and achieve the standard for their commitment and support for young people.

Investors in Education’s single reason for existence is to improve and support the link between the local business community and the local educational community.

In doing this Investors in Education can bring a local and relevant context to learning empowering young people to think positively about their future

This is achieved in the following way:

  • Through u-xplore a bespoke e-enabled infrastructure sited within schools and colleges enabling young people to access compelling information, advice and guidance relating to the local business community.
  • Through a managed and purposeful experience in the workplace via structured programmes of work.
  • Through access to information that exists within the business community from which teachers, lecturers and trainers can develop relevant learning materials relating to local business to truly enhance a young persons learning experience.
  • Through the sharing of business and personal experiences with young people and in doing so influencing their thinking and change their expectations, bringing about a ‘can do’ attitude, which will go someway to laying the foundations for the next generation of entrepreneurs and SME’s.

Essentially, Investors in Education aims to raise the aspiration and in turn the attainment of young people within a community through a structured process of advice and guidance driven by a local business community working in partnership with key local stakeholders such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Local Education Authority.

Investors in Education has been developed in Rotherham collaboratively with Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. It is part funded by Objective 1 through European Regional Development Fund.
